Malty choc chip cookies

Made these for this weekend as we are going for a nice picnic to the balloon festival in Bristol. They are yummy! A bit random with the inclusion of the Horlicks, but I bought a 400g pack so it’ll do two batches plus a couple of drinks. They are quite high calorie, 186 calories and 9g fat if you make 20, but very chewy and delicious! According to the magazine (latest edition of good food) you can only freeze the uncooked dough. No idea why but assume it’s right. Next time I make them, I will freeze half a batch of dough so we’ve got some to knock up!

140g butter
50g caster sugar (golden if possible)
100g soft light brown sugar (I used dark)
2 eggs
200g plain flour
175g Horlicks
1/2 tsp baking powder
Pinch salt
100g dark chocolate, snipped into chunks with scissors

Line 2 baking sheets with parchment
Beat butter and sugars in bowl until light and fluffy (not a very clear instruction! Just until fully combined!)
Beat in the eggs one at a time
Add everything else except chocolate and stir until a dough forms
Stir in the snipped chocolate
Roll into 20 balls, walnut sized, and space out on baking trays
Bake for 10-12 mins. When you get them out, as they’re cookies they will still feel soft and uncooked, but so long as the edges are golden brown and it’s had the right time, you’re fine

Apparently they keep for 5 days! Good luck with that
