So when I had 8 disintegrated peanut butter cupcakes to use up I obviously had t make a trifle. I’m not a mad fan of trifle, mainly I’m not that keen on the jelly… S whenever I’m making a trifle I make it along these lines. I will be making another next week as it went down really well, but will use up the remains of panther’s birthday cake from last year as its still waiting in the freezer! It’s custard cake so I will add a bit of melted chocolate to moisten it and add flavour. Yum yum.
Layer 1- 8 cupcakes with juice poured on to moisten. I used cranberry and blueberry as this is what we had
Layer 2- a pack of frozen mixed fruits of the forest
Layer 3- 2 tins of cheapo custard with 2 bars of melted dark chocolate stirred in. This set firm surprisingly quickly
Layer 4- whipped double cream, topped with a sprinkle of Christmassy cake decorations
For a dessert made almost entirely of leftovers this was pretty stunning!
